Just below the beautiful blue sky drifting over Stockfleths Gate 51, in Oslo there is my personal new paradise called Bare Flyt. With a minimalist aesthetic that conveys peace of mind and tranquility... if only everywhere could feel so free from danger, so sheltered, so cherished... This is what I asked myself as I sat down with Rachel Wolfe.
A charmant yogini enthusiastic and artist from California, "Bare Flyt is an unique experience, it's like Savasana but floating. The principle is simple: you lie down in salt water that makes you float, you enter into a state of total relaxation where both the muscles and brain rest - Would you like to try it?"
After 75 minutes in heaven this is how I would describe my experience: Think of yourself as a baby in the womb the gently feeling of floating. This enabled me to redirect my energy properly through my major joints, my breathing and my mental and nervous systems. I practiced my favorite breathing technique while my body was completely relaxed (retention technique) reaching 150 seconds of pause. After a couple of repetitions, I felt asleep.
Nothing moved on the outside, the motion was all internal. I can say floating gave me an extraordinary high level of synchronization between my mind and body. I developed a mental state to the point where my mind made my body relax. I rediscovered my natural energy.
Bare Flyt offer three different flotation tanks, and one of them is for couples - so bring your beloved one! They also have a dedicated room for massages where you can prolong the relaxing feeling after the floating.
One last sentence: This is highly recommended, I can not wait to get back!
